Our Mission: To promote plein air painting in the State of Washington by providing painting, learning, and exhibiting opportunities.

  • Friends of Moran Art Show at Crow Valley Pottery

Crow Valley Pottery put on a splendid event July 27 at their Cabin in Eastsound. Nearly twenty PAWA painters joined Crow Valley artists in a show of Washington State Parks with Moran State Park highlighted. Artists did demos during the day, Crow Valley provided live music and lemonade and snacks. It was well attended and sales were steady. All-in-all a fun time for artists and patrons alike. Crow Valley Pottery will hang the 100 paintings in their two galleries for the month of August. If you're in the area be sure to stop in and see the work.

Four of us - Janice Kirstein, Anni Leedy, Paula Ensign and Robin Weiss -- got together Friday to paint at Moran State Park, I'd never painted there before and was glad to learn about some great spots. I can't wait to go back for more. Robin Weiss discovered a great spot at Obstruction Pass State Park - a bit of a walk down the bluff to a beach with a 180 degree view. We also enjoyed catching the evening and morning light at Doe Bay. All-in-all a full weekend of art!

Thank you so much Crow Valley Pottery for helping Friends of Moran and Washington State Parks.
