  • The Paint Out at Bloedel Reserve

The Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island is a a beautiful place to paint. Intriguing forest, enchanting gardens and interesting water features provide endless compositions. About 14 artists showed up Friday despite the overcast and mist which persisted throughout the day. We found cover under trees and buildings when possible. Some attempted paintings out in the wet. The Saturday artists started the day with clouds, but the sun came out by noon for a welcome change.

Many thanks to Sylvia and Gillian for organizing this paintout. It's always nice to have some time together both at lunch and at the end of the day. A group of us met at Fay Bainbridge State Park afterwards on Friday (and maybe on Saturday too?) to review the day and have a little show of the work produced. One of the best things about our paint-outs is getting together to support and encourage each one's artistic journey.
