Our Mission: To promote plein air painting in the State of Washington by providing painting, learning, and exhibiting opportunities.

  • Walla Walla Paint Out

How many shades of green are there? Every possible green variation was seen this last week in Southeast Washington. The fields, trees, hills, mountains were all rich variations of green, made all the more intense under dark, cloudy skies. We had a wonderful paint-out with the Northwest Pastel Society. It was great to meet new artists including several PAWA members from the eastern part of the state. NWPS welcomed us with goody bags and plentiful information about their beautiful area. A different site was selected each morning and afternoon – farms, wilderness, rivers and charming towns. Despite the cold and wind, twenty plus artists persevered to create an impressive body of work for our reception at Wenaha Gallery in Dayton on Saturday. Many, many thanks to Bonnie Griffith and Lauri Borer for putting this event together; it was wonderful in every way. Well OK, next time maybe it could be a little warmer and drier.
